Emma Birikorang is a Program Coordinator/Course Director at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) in Accra, Ghana. Prior to joining the KAIPTC, Emma worked as a Senior Program Assistant with the African Security Dialogue and Research, Ghana between 2002 and 2005. At the KAIPTC, she is responsible for, among other duties, coordinating administrative, research and training activities for the Research Department. She is a Research Fellow at KAIPTC and is responsible for initiating and conducting policy-based desk and field research and publishing scholarly papers in referred journals. She holds an MA in International Politics and Security Studies from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom and a Diplôme Universitaire d’Etude du Français from the Université du Benin, Cotonou, Benin. Emma has written numerous research papers, contributed to a number of journals and facilitated a number of Course Leadership Conferences and Workshops. She has a working knowledge of French.
