“Given the current high rate of HIV/AIDS infection in Botswana, there seems a need to analyse its economic impact. This paper attempts to present some thoughts related to such a project. It should be understood, however, that the ideas presented are of a highly tentative and prelimanary nature, and focused largely upon those aspects of the problem that the present BIDPA staff feels most familiar with. These ideas are presented to the BIDPA board, not as a concrete or complete project proposal, but merely in order to introduce the subject for its initial consideration.”
