“I thought I would start the discussion this evening by a prognosis about what might happen if indeed there is a change of government in Zambia after October this year and what might happen if there is a government led by Frederick Chiluba, the current head of the Movement for Multi-party Democracy. What I want to talk about this evening is to give a history of how the opposition movement grew; how suddenly it took off, really only about a year ago, in six very packed months.”
