In this issue the highlights of ACTS research are shared. The first article “Africa Rising? Not without science, technology and innovation discusses the potential for African growth despite civil wars and epidemics. This can however only be achieved through the development of science and technology. The second article title; Conducting STI research in Africa covers the funding received for new projects in ACTS. The next article looks at a projects on clean lighting and improved cooking stoves in Kenya. The article titled “The audacity and hope of Obama’s African economic diplomacy discusses president Obama’s foreign policy towards Africa.
