“The monograph is presented in 6 sections. It begins by locating the study within a historical background in order to provide an overarching political framework, which will give readers the perspective and contextual understanding of the findings presented. This is followed by an assessment of the election administration and management system with specific focus on the constitutional and legal framework governing elections. The third section provides an analysis of the impact of foreign democratic assistance on Zimbabwe’s democratic process. The fourth section provides an analyses of the role and importance of political parties in the democratization process. The fifth section provides a brief synopsis of the role of civil society in political transition and electoral support, with particular reference to the impact of the legal and constitutional environment on the involvement of civil society in elections. The final section presents a brief analysis on the current plethora of conflict in Zimbabwe.”
