Antoinette Louw

Antoinette Louw is a senior research fellow with the International Crime in Africa Programme in the Tshwane (Pretoria) office. She is responsible for project managing the international criminal justice work undertaken by the programme. Antoinette was previously with the Crime, Justice and Politics Programme at the ISS, where she served as a senior research fellow and as programme head for several years. She has been researching crime, violence and criminal justice in South Africa since 1991 when she joined the Centre for Social and Development Studies at the University of Natal. Since 1997 when she joined the ISS, her work in the policy research field has covered victimisation surveys, crime prevention policy and practice, policing and public perceptions of justice and safety. Antoinette holds an MA degree in political studies from the University of Natal.
