Samuel Mondays Atuobi is a Senior Research Associate and Head of the International Institutions Program at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) in Accra, Ghana, where he is responsible for the implementation of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Conflict Prevention Framework. He also supports research activities on issues related to peace and security in Africa. Prior to joining the KAIPTC in June 2007, Mr. Atuobi worked in an unofficial capacity as a Research Assistant to a lecturer at the Department of Political Science, University of Ghana. He also consulted for the UN Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Dakar, Senegal in 2009. His research interests are in governance and security. He has written several articles and made presentations in the areas of elections, corruption, transnational security challenges, responsibility to protect, and mediation. He is also the lead facilitator on negotiations and mediation skills at the KAIPTC. Mr. Atuobi holds an MA in International Affairs from the Legon Centre for International Affairs at the University of Ghana, a BA in Political Science, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Peacekeeping and International Capacity Building from Bradford University, UK. He has a working knowledge of French and holds a ‘Diplôme de Langue Française’ from Alliance Française d’Accra.
