Dr Gumbo holds honour’s and master’s degrees in Rural and Urban Planning from the University of Zimbabwe, Harare, Zimbabwe and a Doctor of Philosophy in Geography and Environmental Studies from Stellenbosch University in South Africa. His PhD focused on planning, developing and managing sustainable African cities. He has vast lecturing and research experience acquired from a number of Africa countries. He has published a number of scholarly articles mainly on African rural and urban development experiences
