“Public sector reforms in Botswana are
broadly perceived to mean structural and
procedural changes aimed at obtaining a
more efficient and effective public service.
Amongst the above-listed components of public sector reforms, Botswana has given
most prominence to public administration,
decentralisation and privatization. The reforms have included streamlining (right
sizing) of the public sector, productivity
improvement programmes, control over inputs, transparency and accountability, performance management systems, commercialization, corporatisation and the anticipated privatization.”
