In South Africa 60% of the white population can speak both official languages English and Afrikaans but in Canada only 12% can speak both English and French. The theme of this paper is the parallel lines that can be distinguished between the Canadian nation building process and the South African nation. Although later in the report the Canadian situation is analyzed with regard to culture, economics, education and a solution for the nation building process is being suggested.
