Following a short section to provide the context in which the 2010 elections took place,the report will briefly discuss the pre-electoral climate in Burundi, which witnessed various key developments. An overview of how the communal, presidential and legislative polls unfolded will follow. Thereafter, the report will turn to several observations regarding the polls and the immediate way forward for the country.”
