This policy brief is based on the views and actions of the stakeholders and policy recommendations they suggested to improve the health workforce in primary health care centres in different parts of the Delta State. The availability of the health workforce in PHC’s located in rural areas, especially remote communities is dependant on the effective policies and interventions that influence the decision of health workers to stay or leave these areas. In order to deliver available, accessible, affordable, equitable and integrated preventive health services – the health workforce needs to be adequately trained and motivated.
