“The objectives of this study are primarily to examine the experiences of multiparty
democracy and how it has affected women’s participation in elections. It evaluates
the performance of political parties and how they deal with the issue of women in
relation to men’s representation internally, the constitution and legal framework,
the enabling environment, experiences of the mixed-member proportional (MMP)model and its implications for the inclusion of women, as well as the election results.”
