“This brief puts into perspective the 27 December 2007 electoral debacle through an analysis of its causal factors and implications on the country’s multi-party democratic electoral system. The analysis proceeds from the premise that the country has been plunged into political crisis due
to the lack of leadership committed to the principles of good governance, accountability, and the rule of law. This is the core of the problem, which is likely to hamper progress towards the holistic implementation of the Kofi Annan-brokered peace process.”
