On the basis of the findings outlined in the document, there is an urgent need in Delta State to strengthen the delivery of
maternal and child health care through innovative community-based approach. In this context, actionable policy strategies are recommended which emphasize the implementation of community-based participatory interventions to strengthen the provision of maternal, child health and other primary health care services as
follows: 1)Training Community Women on Maternal and Child Health Care. 2) Sensitizing the Community Women Towards Behavioural Change. 3)Implementation packages that provide technical skills to women of childbearing age and lay health
workers.
