“The Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) on International Relations of the Federal Republic of Nigeria organised a retreat on Nigeria’s Foreign Policy at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Abuja. The purpose of the retreat was threefold. First, to take objective stock of the foreign policy successes of the current civilian administration. Second, to review the foreign policy challenges facing Nigeria globally and regionally, including the Gulf of Guinea, and map out the future directions of Nigeria’s foreign policy in line with Nigeria’s national and strategic interests. Thirdly, to identify the institutions and structures that would provide effective platforms for the realisation of Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives and the advancement of Nigeria’s national interests.”
