“The dialogue focused on the following critical issues:
I. The TFTA and its negotiation processes,
II. The Southern African Development Community Free Trade Area (SADC FTA)
III. The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), and
IV. The East African Community (EAC) trade related initiatives.
Further, the dialogue also examined the opportunities and challenges for Informal Cross Border Trade (ICBT) in the SADC Free Trade Area (SADC FTA), the COMESA Simplified Trade Regime (COMESA STR) and the East African Community(EAC).It provided a platform for increased networking, co-ordination and collaboration among Informal Cross Border Traders (ICBTs) and other informal
economy players and stakeholders in order to influence the processes, negotiations and implementation issues related to the TFTA.”
