The focus of this issue is the progress made by the SADC as well as the regional integration of countries like Madagascar and Tanzania. The implications for countries to join the SADC and the achievements of the SADC are also highlighted. However the influence of the withdrawal of Seychelles as a member of the SADC was minimal according to the article ‘Seychelles: the obituary of a former SADC member.’
