The Global Catastrophic Risks 2021, developed by the Global Challenge Foundation, gives an overview of the current main greatest threats to humanity, highlights their interconnectedness as they reinforce each other, and explores how they are being managed at the global level. The report focuses on seven current main global catastrophic risks: weapons of mass destruction, catastrophic climate change, ecological collapse, pandemics, asteroid impact, super-volcanic eruption and Artificial Intelligence. It also examines three next global risks: the formation of a black hole, nanotechnology and quantum computing. The warning signs have been increasingly strong and the report aims to guide better long-term strategy and support the design of more efficient governance model.
