access to water and sanitation can have
sizeable impacts on several key areas of
human development. This brief highlights
the importance of a sustained effort by
domestic leaders and the international
community to promote access to these basic
resources. Further research should explore
the governance structures and policies most
conducive to increasing access to safe water
and sanitation and the role of international
aid in the improvement of this infra-structure.”
