“The Tokyo Declaration on African Development offers enormous possibilities for mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries of Eastern Asia and Southern Africa. Africa is still outside the mainstream of global commercial and technological advances and decision-making processes. A more action oriented approach for promoting economic growth and sustainable development in Africa remains an urgent requirement. The Tokyo Declaration attempts to provide this new approach.”
