This update is about the present state of relations between the United States and South Africa. It is a relationship that has from the beginning taken on two tracks, government-to-government and people-to-people. The US-South Africa Binational Commission (BNC) amongst other things, provides an opportunity for the sharing of information and speedy communications on issues of concern to both governments, brings American resources, government agencies and people to South Africa and provides an opportunity for leaders in business and government to work together to develop policy incentives and eliminate disincentives to trade and investment.
