“The most effective direct and indirect third world sanction moves against South Africa were initiated by the United Nations (arms embargo) and Iran (oil embargo). The two most outspoken African countries on sanctions are Nigeria (oil) and Tanzania (general sanctions). South Africa’s support of the Muzorewa Government is increasingly being seen by Third world countries as a means to call for further sanctions against South Africa.”
