In his address President Lucas Mangope stated that the search for freedom, harmony, peace and properity for all is the greatest concern for Southern Africa. The implications of the alternative are loss of freedom and peace. The north-South polarity is escalating and in this South Africa plays a huge role as polarity exists within its borders. The question that brought Bophuthatswana to the forefront of the debate is: What are we doing about that? However for Bophuthatswana to take a leadership role they will have to build a strong model of nation building to unify the rest of Southern Africa. This can only be done if the Constitution becomes the guideline for attitudes and actions.
