Workshop Theme: Clean Energy Access towards a Sustainable Society in Kenya

The accessibility of clean energy can reduce costs of living, doing business, improve health, enhance competitiveness and create employment. Kenyans spend approximately US$1 billion on lighting annually with 70% of the population using kerosene for lighting and small scale cooking. Alternative fuels such as solar portable lanterns have a major positive impact on the environment, health and household lighting spending.
