This paper started off with a brief description of the volatile political past of the CAR. It then continued to discuss the Electoral System, the role of the (CEI) Independent Electoral Commission. The discussion then continues around the events leading up to the elections. It was argued that the election postponement crisis arose due to the inability of the nation and its government to hold elections based on criteria known and accepted by all.
